Key powerbrokers of the coal, oil, and gas industries, Scott Morrison and Antony Albanese, have leapt into action together in response to Australia’s summer from hell.

Given the scale of the climate emergency, they have taken the unprecedented step of co-releasing their energy policy vision for 2050: a rapid phasing out of fossil fuels the minute their constituents on the boards of Woodside, Santos, Chevron, Mineral Resources, Origin Energy, and Bluescope say it’s OK.

According to The Guardian,

“Labor and the Coalition took roughly the same amount from the industry over the four years, other than 2017-18 when donations to the Coalition far outstripped Labor. Donations to the Coalition were only slightly higher than to Labor during the 2018-19 election year.”
