Tracy Whitman of Blackburn Primary School was supposed to hand in a descriptive report about her pet cat Mr Bigglesworth. What she did next will shock you, unless you’re a member of the Federal Government.

Primary school teachers across the country are ropable with Nationals MP Barnaby Joyce for setting the example that it’s okay to submit reports via text message.

Just as Mr Joyce claimed he texted an “awful lot” of reports to the Prime Minister during his time as special drought envoy, many 11-year old school students now believe that instead of laboriously typing out an in-depth descriptive report about the pyramids, they can just text Ms O’Halloran a few emojis.

It might be acceptable for the former Deputy Prime Minister of Australia, but for students in Year 6, it’s quite frankly not good enough.
