Following his latest comments about “disloyal” Jewish voters, let’s remain calm and remember that Adolf Hitler didn’t star in The Apprentice.

Taking a quick break from describing anti-fascists as terrorists, conservatives have called for rhetorical modesty when it comes to comparisons between modern America and Nazi Germany.

Sure the U.S. President is a xenophobic authoritarian demagogue who uses concentration camps, scapegoating and anti-Semitic tropes, demonises the press, the left, and minorities, panders to white supremacists with promises of restoring national greatness, and repeatedly threatens maniacal wars of aggression.

But let’s not get carried away with extreme nomenclature.
