Fearmongering you can believe in.
Malcolm Turnbull is asking for re-election based on a platform of “Stable Government”.
Here are the top ten ways the Coalition offers Australians stability.
1.Stability in repeating three word slogans, refusing to stop even if journalists are banging their heads on the table in front of them.
2.Stability in pandering to bigotry in all its forms.
3.Stability in using national security scare tactics to fill their policy vacuum.
4.Stability in blaming those in offshore prisons, hijabs, welfare queues, and unions for the social problems caused by their economic ideology.
5.Stability in hacking away at health, education, welfare and worker’s rights at every opportunity.
6.Stability in labelling things the opposite of what they are. For example, calling Greg Hunt the “Minister For the Environment”.
7.Stability in “cracking down on welfare” every second Tuesday.
8.Stability in curtailing civil liberties at each conceivable opportunity.
9.Stability in funding militarism and entrenching oligarchy at the expense of millions of Australians.
10.Stability in debasing Australia’s social and cultural institutions, undermining its democratic foundations and degrading its natural environment.
To paraphrase Scott Ludlam, Mr Turnbull, you can take your plan for “Stable Government” and ram it as far from Canberra as your taxpayer funded travel entitlements will take you.
