There are a few things we can predict about Malcom Turnbull’s Prime Ministership from his voting record, one he most closely shares with Bronwyn Bishop.
He’ll cut education and health funding. He’ll erode the rights of workers. He’ll continue violating the rights of Indigenous people and refugees. He’ll oppose diverse media ownership. He’ll block public health reforms around smoking. He’ll attack the ABC and SBS. He’ll undermine the welfare system. He’ll privatise government assets. He’ll prevent progressive tax reform. He’ll oppose marine conservation and fishing restrictions. Meanhwhile he’ll be a strong supporter of CSG and coal industries.
But gee whiz, he’ll do it all with personality, a big smile, good grace and charm. And that’s what really counts.
