Commissioner Graham Ashton apologised to the victims of police violence, saying his officers thought for a second they were engaging in meaningful protest.
A group of pro-virus activists have had the stuffing beaten out of them on the steps of Victoria’s Parliament after police mistook them for people who cared about the future of life on Earth.
At first, the three officers policing the event took a fairly relaxed approach to what they thought was a harmless rally demanding the spread of COVID-19.
All that changed when the senior most officer said he thought he saw a sign calling for a habitable planet, and immediately called in the riot squad.
