Australians relieved to finally have a Prime Minister take over from an abusive Dad.
Dramatic news from the national cabinet today as state premiers followed in the footsteps of Scott Morrison, flouting the rules of how Australian democracy is supposed to work and appointing Jacinda Ardern as interim Prime Minister.
A few murmurs from the left about due process and democracy were quickly drowned out by millions of Australians welcoming the coup with open arms.
The general vibe seemed to be: “Shhhhhh. We love democracy as much as the next country but they haven’t put up with Scott Morrison for over 18 months.”
“We’d love to elect our very own functional human being with the powers of fluent speech, empathy, and kindness. But until our movements are big enough to drown out Murdoch and carry authentically left parties and leaders into power, a cheeky Ardern coup is the best we’ve got.”
