In response to strong evidence of water on Mars and therefore possible life, the Australian Government has moved quickly to declare the planet terra nullius ‘just in case’.
Forecasting a likely invasion, occupation and colonisation of Mars by the First Space Fleet in coming years, Prime Minister Turnbull said he was keen to avoid the awkwardness of recognising the rights of any prior Martian inhabitants.
Turnbull said: “Climate change is going to make life in Australia pretty unbearable. Better to have a sensible and pragmatic policy discussion about colonising Mars now than try to talk sense to Cory Bernadi”.
