Much like in Australia, shameless charlatans of the pundit class are already spinning the Labour loss as a product of “moving too far left” instead if what it clearly was, the product of a Brexit culture war which put them in a uniquely terrible electoral position. What they should have done of course was emulate the centrism of the Liberal Democrats, whose second worst performance in their 31-year history was an absolute triumph.
If we are to take one lesson from the British election result it’s the centrism is best, chuck out the rest.
That’s the message from cynical hacks in the media who will conveniently ignore every other factor in this election but for the one that serves their own class interest.
Asked about the role of the Brexit culture war in wedging Labour, disinformation and propaganda from media and tech billionaires, and the poor showing of the Liberal Democrats, a herd of centrists was seen to put on their blindfolds, stick in their earplugs, and go and hide in an industrial fridge.
