This historic defeat for Labour says nothing about the sinister plutocratic hijacking of democracy. What it says is Labour should have promised to kill more civilians in the Middle-East.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn must take the blame for leading an ill-advised campaign based on fairness, treating people with dignity, and basic human rights.

Rather than promising to do something about the fact that eight billionaires are wealthier than half the world’s population, or that all our societies could completely collapse by 2050, Mr Corbyn should have instead followed in sensible Tony Blair’s footsteps, and pledged to bomb Iraq again.

Why offer a meaningful alternative to the Tories, campaign with integrity, or uphold your duty to serve and protect the people you represent, when you can just join the billionaires, get high on your own supply of power, and throw millions of your compatriots to the dogs?

It’s clearer than ever that we need to build stronger progressive counterweights to Murdoch’s power. Be part of that struggle by becoming a Situation Theatre patron.
