Radical new Greens income management legislation has passed both houses of parliament overnight as the entire Coalition Government attended the Murdochs’ Christmas Party.
The new laws place the bulk of a conservative politician’s income on a cashless debit card, only allowing access to their overly-generous pay and entitlements on the condition that they avoid engaging in destructive behaviours.
Faruqi denied that the legislation unfairly targets conservative white men, saying it applied “equally to all Morrison Government MPs dependent on taxpayer’s money” and is “confined to a trial in one community, Canberra”, where “high levels of welfare dependency and social harm” had been identified.
