The $7 billion study which followed a bloke called Gary for 24 hours found yeah, probs don’t check Facebook and Twitter so much.

Ground-breaking multi-billion dollar research by the Australian National University has given strong support to something everyone already new: checking the news and social media every 3.5 seconds for signs that everything is collapsing is not in the top 10 things you can do to maintain good mental health.

Although some had thought meditation, chamomile tea, and frantically scrolling through Twitter to be infected by the panic of millions of other people would be the top three, not so.

The study showed that compulsively checking social media in the time of coronavirus, climate breakdown, and potential economic collapse was the 745th best thing you could do for your mental health, right after watching Sunrise.
