No one can doubt that the Premier is making every effort to provide NSW residents with all the sophistry they need.
In an interview with Michael Rowland on News Breakfast this morning about the devastating bushfire crisis facing NSW, Gladys Berejikilian showed incredible linguistic fortitude in using every possible phrase to explain the causes of the bushfires except the correct one.
“There is no doubt that “deep drought”, “extreme conditions”, and “unique circumstances” have contributed to this emergency but our first and foremost priority is to protect the coal industry by not telling the patently obvious truth about what’s really causing these fires.”
“I don’t think it’s appropriate at this time to accurately describe what’s going on here.”
.@mjrowland68: Do you agree climate change is creating conditions that are causing the #NSWfires?@GladysB: There's no doubt drought has contributed to the conditions ... But I don't think it's appropriate to get into a political argument as to what the causes are at this stage. pic.twitter.com/DmDiid0TyM
