Is this a story of a murderous psychopath brutally killing multiple women or is it really about a decent man being driven by these women into killing them?
Inspired by the recent debate about whether a misunderstood NRL legend who terrorised his family and ultimately burned them to death was the real victim, Foxtel’s new TV adaptation of the 2000 psychological horror film American Psycho will cast new light on well-respected financial guru, gourmand, and music aficionado, Patrick Bateman.
In News Corp’s TV adaptation, Bateman will be portrayed as “quietly spoken”, “gentle”, and a “top bloke”.
Scenes from the movie which feature Bateman murdering a homeless man and his dog, killing someone with a chrome axe and disposing of their body, beating and bloodying two sex workers, holding a nail gun to a woman’s head, dropping a chainsaw on another, shooting another, hiding multiple female corpses, killing four cops, as well as murdering a security guard and janitor, will be re-interpreted to allow audiences to keep a bit more of an open mind.
Of all things I've seen on the Baxter murder-suicide, this, from Queensland Police, is one of the worst. pic.twitter.com/l4swKmcz87
