Apparently, the camera does lie.
The nation’s media have sought to verify reports of police brutality over the weekend with a credible independent source: the police commander.
There were widespread accounts and video footage of protesters returning home from Sydney’s Black Lives Matter rally being trapped inside Central Station by scores of armed men, who refused to use face masks during a pandemic, and subjected them to a chemical weapons attack.
A small group of white males have turned up to the #blacklivesmatter protest in Sydney armed and without face masks, ignoring public health laws. Please share and help identify these perpetrators. pic.twitter.com/r5H6R7bATo

I was there when protesters were pepper sprayed at Central Station on Saturday night. I want to clarify what happened as details have been misrepresented.

The first and most important being the NSW Police’s assertion that the use of pepper spray was “appropriate”.
It was not. pic.twitter.com/1wsGb5M5Fw
These facts were checked with police and proven to be wildly inaccurate.
There was actually no police brutality, the police commander said, instead saying he supported the use of capsicum spray on teenagers because young people need their vegetables.
