Jeremy Corbyn presents a socialist vision for Europe, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez spearheads a push for a Green New Deal for the most powerful country on Earth, and the ALP wants to make some pretty big changes to franking credits.
Cashing in on the global appetite for radical political change, ALP strategists are gearing up for a huge Labor conference in which they combine thrilling policies on dividend imputation, negative gearing and capital gains with Liberal policies on encryption, climate, refugees, the Trans-Pacific Partnership, political donations, corporate lobbying, and arms exports.
Much like how Jeremy Corbyn’s authentic socialist vision inspired hundreds of thousands of people to join the British Labor Party, and for chants of “Oh, Jeremy Corbyn!” to echo around the country in 2017, the ALP is confident that once the masses hear much more specific detail about their three technical economic reforms they’ll forget Bill Shorten’s infuriating inauthenticity and rally behind a Labor Party which now sits to the right of the ghost of Malcolm Fraser and the columns of John Hewson.
Forget Bernie 2016’s slogans “A Future to Believe In” and “A Political Revolution Is Coming”, get psyched for Bill 2019: “It’s Time…To Scrap Franking Credit Cash Rebates.”
