Morrison lamely defended himself by claiming the cost of action is less than the cost of inaction.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison has come under heavy fire from the media for using his leadership position to try to do something to reduce long-term harm to Australians.
Yesterday, the PM announced a $17bn economic stimulus package which would make some attempt to limit the economic fallout from coronavirus.
Following the announcement, journalists Mark Riley and Michael Brissenden addressed the PM as Bill Shorten 2.0 and peppered him with probing questions about how he would pay for it, how such reckless spending could possibly be justified, and whether he was the Bill Australians could not afford.
During this series of real “gotcha” moments, the fact the government spending might save people from immense suffering was deemed irrelevant.
