“We’re prepared to compromise the national interest”.
Following the fire which broke out in Parliament House earlier in the week (whether it was started by Tony Abbott or remotely by Malcolm Turnbull remains unclear), Prime Minister Scott Morrison has convinced Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove to declare a state of emergency and suspend constitutional safeguards.
As a result, the Coalition can arrest members of the Labor Party, Greens or crossbenchers, dissolve all opposition parties, and suppress all non-News Corp media. The changes also allow Morrison to overrule state and local laws and overthrow state and local governments.
Asked whether he would do anything differently if somehow he got into in government, Mr Shorten said he’s not into “change for change’s sake”, so he would maintain the fascist state apparatus.
He has promised a kinder, gentler form of fascism if given the chance.
