Far from fervently backing the Liberals no matter what they do, The Australian’s gushing coverage of their wage subsidy announcement is fully consistent with their reputation as the nation’s socialist paper of record.
Some newspapers shamelessly shill for their chosen corporate and political interests no matter how many glaring contradictions, hypocrisies, and farcical absurdities this results in.
Not The Australian.
The News Corp masthead is one of the few papers you can rely on to consistently advocate for big spending socialist policies which place the interests of ordinary people at heart.
So it’s no surprise that after a decade of congratulating Labor for saving Australia from a recession thanks to their stimulus measures during the Global Financial Crisis, they are now doing exactly the same by pre-emptively congratulating the Liberals for saving Australia from a depression.
