Just when you thought state capture by the fossil fuel industry couldn’t get any more extreme in this country, in comes the Minerals Council of Australia (MCA) to quite literally mark its territory.
Not satisfied with using donations, advertising, lobbying, and government personnel to control state and federal parliaments and the nation’s media, the MCA has launched a bid to brand the entire country.
The Morrison Government’s other main stakeholders, the gas industry, have launched their own campaign to rename Australia “Chevron”.
