Across 97 APS agencies that were surveyed, the Home Affairs department ranked last for engagement, 94 for wellbeing and 91 for innovation. And you would have thought morale would be high on the Death Star.

The nation is still reeling from the news earlier in the week that the Department run by Ivan Milat’s difficult twin brother, Peter Dutton, has a bullying problem.

Apart from revealing high levels of bullying, harassment, offensive language, verbal abuse, sabotage, corruption, cronyism, nepotism, purposelessness, discrimination and dissatisfaction, poor management and communication, dissatisfaction, and a prevalent desire to leave the Department, the survey also found that only 71% of staff believed the agency “actively encourages ethical behaviour by all of its employees”.

The fact that Peter Dutton said he’d release this 71% from the basement if they responded positively to this question may explain the weirdly high percentage who think this.

You can sign a petition and make a contribution to the cause of bringing Priya and her family back to Biloela here.

To defend the rights of this family as well as all the refugees Australia continues to harm, you can donate to the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, contact your local MP, get involved with your local refugee rights group, or help build the movement however you can.

You can also attend any of these rallies below today.
